Jasper's Room
All the nursery needs now is a baby, at least that is what my mom keeps telling me. Jasper's nursery is finally complete. I think I have probably been working on it since August, and all of the furniture, shelving, and bedding was done back in September. I was trying to plan early, and I am so glad I did, because October was a crazy busy month, November we were on vacation, and then with the holidays there was not much time to complete the room.I am so ecstatic on how it turned out, and all the details helped it to become exactly what I envisioned. I wanted it to be fun, playful, and bright - modern mixed with vintage. But most of all, not too kid like because I want to enjoy being in there at 3 AM too. I am so excited for the day when we get to finally complete the room with little Jasper, and hopefully he will enjoy it too!The crib, bedding, dressers, and shelves are from Ikea. The play gym in the right image is also from Ikea. I just love that store! The artwork above the bed is from Ikea. The owl is from Etsy, and you can find the store here. I love it!
The storage boxes under the crib are from Ikea. I tried to create as much extra storage as possible because we are going to need it. The lamp and green storage cubes are from Target. The blue dresser is actually from a garage sale. I found it over a year ago and just loved the different shape of it. When I decided to use it for the nursery I spray painted it the baby blue.
The string of circles (I don't know what to call it) was made by me. I wanted something to bring all the colors together, and also bring some depth and playfulness to the room. The circles are cut from felt, I sewed them together, and stuffed them with stuffing. Then I just connected them to the sting with the tiny clothes pins and hung it. I am in love with how it turned out! I think it is my favorite part of the room.
I also made the Jasper sign. I created it in Photoshop, and then had it printed on a canvas gallery wrap.
I was so excited when I found these two banks. I wanted to include another owl, and I just loved the elephant. I got them from Urban Outfitters of all places, and they were very inexpensive.
The book racks are actually magazine racks from Ikea. The side table was also found at a garage sale, and I painted it. And the chair was stored away in my mom's attic, and I spray painted it. The curtains gave me the most difficulty, because I originally wanted blinds behind the white curtains. But, of course, our windows are bigger than the biggest standard size, so I had to get creative. The white curtains are from Ikea, and the grey curtains are from Overstock.I hope you enjoyed seeing Jasper's room! I love redecorating!
