The Month of July

Where have I been the past month?  After looking back over everything we did it is more like where haven't we been?  As wedding season approached this year I looked at my calendar and crazy enough July was empty!  My Julys have been all out CRAZINESS for the past 5 years, so I decided to take full advantage of it.  I decided not to take on any work the month of July (of course emails, scheduling with brides, etc. was still there but no sessions).  It was wonderful, but not what I had quite imagined.  I was thinking relaxation...reading while Jasper napped, quiet walks, lounging by the pool.  I have realized those things just don't happen in life the way we imagine, but we still had fun!  Here is a recap of our July!We spent July 4th with our friends on the lake!  We had so much fun!  I can easily say it was my most relaxing, fun day of the entire summer!Trevor, my brothers Sam and Gabe, and I all ran in the Relay for Life 5k.  Boy was I out of shape, but I made it!We went to LOTS of baseball games!!!  Jasper loved it!  He loves all sports and thinks his uncles are so cool!We play lots of baseball at home too, and for some reason Jasper always has to pitch.  Even though this one of my all time low moments as a mom I just had to share.http://youtu.be/5I96WlXGVoYI felt horrible!Family is always number one in my life, so if my brothers picked up the phone calling to do something we were instantly there.  There just aren't many more summers left that they will be able to hang out with us.  This is one of those times where we just picked up and went to a lake at a State Park for the afternoon.Jasper got his first haircut!  It was so hard on me...his curls were just so cute.  But he was getting called a girl more often than not, and with the 90 degree heat it was too hot to have all that hair on his neck. Before:After:And of all things I took on a redecorating project!  I updated my living room.  I have wanted to do this picture wall behind our couch for a year now, and I just couldn't wait any longer.  I went to lots of garage sales for the frames, printed family photographs, spray painted everything, and it took too much time planning.  But I love it!  I also got new lamp shades, and moved some things around.  I still have one spot to fill on the wall, but I'm waiting until I take Jasper's 18 Month photos. We took Jasper to the Zoo for the first time!  He had so much fun!  Skipped just about all of his naps, and he was still good the entire time.We went to a couple different festivals in town, and Jasper had a bunch of firsts. We started trying to transition Jasper from loving baseball to loving football.  All four uncles are playing this year so we have lots of games to go to.Trevor and I spent one night away from Jasper and went to see Tim McGraw (my favorite!) and Kenny Chesney in concert.  We had a lot of fun!We have watched lots of the Olympics, and here Jasper was trying to swim just like Michael Phelps. And we have spent many hours in the car, driving to ball games, driving my brothers to appointments, and taking my mom to all of her doctor appointments.  Jasper is so good about it all, he just rolls with the punches.July was fun and busy, and now August will be crazy.  We have lots going on, and I have also started working on a HUGE business project!  A project that probably should only happen in slow season, not wedding season but I always seem to somehow put too much pressure on myself.  It is going to be awesome, and I am so excited about it!  My business is changing as I have in the past year and a half, and I cannot wait to fit all the pieces together.

And if it wasn't for my iPhone, I wouldn't have any pictures of anything we did the month of July!  Having it with me at all times is so handy!  I post lots of pictures on Instagram, so make sure to follow me.  My name is lreneestudio.
